Every second counts: Deluxe Edition
Plain White T's
Remember Hey There Delilah? Remember how wonderful it was? Remember how many expectations everyone had from the Plain White T's? Chuck all that down the drain.

Their new album, Every Second Counts, is typical high-school stuff, complete with tales of make-ups, break-ups, pop-punk riff and easy melodies. If that's your thing, perfect. If not, if, like the majority of us, you were expecting the T's to mature as musicians, you might be disappointed.

Having said that though, Every Second Counts has its own saving grace: The album opens with Hey There Delilah. Also, being a Deluxe Edition, it features both CD and DVD, the latter of which includes live concert clips and videos. Thankfully the Delilah video is there, as are the videos of Hate (I really Don't Like You) and Our Time Now, all of which also appear earlier on the DVD as live versions sung at the concert.

Things happen for a reason
Che Nelle
There're moments on this album that are confusing – more to Che Nelle perhaps than to her listener. Every now and then, she forgets which sound she wants to promote. One moment she's dancehall, another pop ... But strangely it seems to work. Things Happen For A Reason is sure to get people dancing, enjoying, grooving... and that's what music is all about, isn't it?

The best damn thing
Avril Lavigne
Canada's pop princess Avril's back in the limelight. This time posing with magenta streaks in her long blonde hair. It's an image that's screaming attitude. Much like the album itself. It's the kind of music that teens will naturally love, and the adult crowd, despite never admitting it, will secretly enjoy too. Girlfriend and The Best Damn Thing are irresistibly catchy. The acoustic version of I Can Do Better is strong enough to impress. It's a triumphant third album for a girl who's just 22.

The Pink Floyd: Chill out experience
Performed by the Sunset Lounge Orchestra
It's a bit strange this one. Wish You Were Here, Money, Hey You, Mother, Comfortably Numb, Another Brick In The Wall, Shine On You Crazy Diamond – classic songs, and now they sound so different. It just doesn't seem right. An album like this might work as lobby music, but it's surely not a collector's piece.
