Lady Gaga has invited a 10-year-old Filipino girl from Winnipeg, Canada, for a duet.
The pop star had heard Maria Aragon’s rendition of her latest hit Born This Way on YouTube and spoke to her over the phone in a conversation facilitated by a local radio station.
“Not only do you have such a beautiful voice and you are so joyful to watch but, every once in a while, whether people believe it or not, I have a very bad day. And I was not having such a good day. And when Perez (Hilton) sent me the video of you singing I was so overjoyed that I began to cry,” Lady Gaga told a shocked Aragon.
“I was so happy. This industry is very difficult to women sometimes and they want to tear us down and tear us apart. And I worked on 'Born This Way' for so long. But...when I saw you, so young and so beautiful singing those words so purely, it reminded me why I wrote this song in the first place and it reminded me why I make music,” she told Aragon.
Upon learning that the radio station, Hot 103, would be flying Aragon to her concert in Toronto next month, Gaga said: “Maybe you're just gonna have to come onstage with me and sing that song. What do you think?”
The singer later posted a video of Aragon, singing calling her “the future”.
