As in most Bhatt (Mukesh and Mahesh) Productions, there are minor hiccups along the way, whether technical or otherwise, with Bollywood song and dance sequences thrown in, but hidden beneath these flaws is an interesting storyline.

Set in 2006, the story unfolds as torrential rain wreaks havoc in Mumbai. As the flood drowns the city, a romance that ended six years ago is rekindled. Ali (Hashmi) and Sanjana (Khan) swim their way out of disaster, only to rediscover their love for one another. Prakash Kutty's cinematography is impressive, although some scenes look unconvincing and lack a certain finesse. Deshmukh manages to hold on to a story of romance with floods in the backdrop.

He takes us back and forth through a time frame that seems to stretch out a simple story. But holding the film together is Khan's impressionable performance, as she effortlessly wins us over with her controlled portrayal of the passionate Sanjana.

Hashmi also gives a strong performance as Akshay, who confesses to have never watched Bollywood's greatest movie (ever) - Sholay! Their subtle romance is unlike most Bollywood happily ever afters, but one that most of us can identify with. It's not a perfect take, but one that will certainly keep you engaged.
