Just when Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan was hoping to watch a football match in London with his eyes wide open, he realised he had a sore eye.

“I woke up this morning with just one eye. One eye! The other did not open. I walked across to the mirror in the wash room and almost fell with fright," Bachchan posted on his blog www.bigb.bigadda.com

“Eye has ballooned into err … well a balloon!" he added.

Since it would have taken him a “lifetime to get an appointment with an eye specialist in London", he called up his doctor in Mumbai.

Bachchan said he was lucky that his doctor had packed a medical kit for the tour and “thankfully it had the eye medication too. So there is relief … both in temperament and the eye".

He warned himself against spending time in front of his “Macbook Pro" and wrote that if he would not get off it, he “will never get to see the Chelsea game".

In the evening of the same day, however, he uploaded his photograph with the football match in full swing in the background. “Eye is better as you can see. Expression is not happening at all!" he wrote to describe his own picture.
