Javier Bardem wins Oscar for Best Supporting Actor
The Spanish actor took the honour for his chilling portrayal of a ruthless hitman in the Coen brothers film which was nominated for eight awards.

- No Country for Old Men won four awards, including best supporting actor for Javier Bardem
Los Angeles: No Country for Old Men stole the show at the 80th Academy Awards, winning four awards.
The dark Coen brothers thriller took the most prestigious best picture award, while Javier Bardem scooped the prize for best supporting actor for his chilling portrayal of a ruthless hitman.
No Country for Old Men also won the Best Adapted Screenplay award and for best director.
It's main rival in the Oscars this year, There will be blood, won two statues.
Daniel Day-Lewis took the best actor award, while the film also picked up the Oscar for best cinematography.
French actress Marion Cotillard continued the foreign winners theme by winning the Best Actress Oscar for her role as Edith Piaf in La Vie en Rose, which also won the best make-up award.
British actress Tilda Swinton won the award for Best Supporting Actress for Michael Clayton, meaning the four major acting awards were won by Europeans.
Action movie the Bourne Ultimatum also won three Oscars for its production work.
It took awards for best sound mixing, best sound editing and best film editing.
The battle of the indie flicks in the best original screenplay category was won by Juno, while Ratatouille won the best animated film gong.
