Who: An award-winning Mexican director who was formerly the head of production at Mexico's Televisa TV network. He studied filmmaking in Maine and Los Angeles, under Polish director Ludwik Margules.

Also made: Amores Perros (2000) and 21 Grams (2003).

The film: The Blood of My Brother

When/where: Tomorrow at 3.30pm at Cinestar 11, Mall of the Emirates.

Who: A director and photo-grapher whose previous subjects have included the hazardous lives of North Sea fishermen, violence in Haiti and underprivileged youth in New York City. His latest work looks at a family's struggle in war-torn Iraq.

Also made: Urk (2003) and When Adnan Comes Home (2005).
