Bruce's back with a bang
Bruce's back with a bang
John Mclane, who always finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, made the right moves with the viewers.
First the good news: 52-years-old action hero Bruce Willis still packs a punch and takes on hi-tech terrorists with a bare minimum of resources. And the bad news: watching Die Hard 4.0 may seem like a slow death to all those who have low tolerance to silly action sequences.
But going by the full-house reception that it received in Dubai last weekend, one would think the latter is an elusive group. The larger-than-life stunts that included helicopter-car run-ins, villains plummeting down an elevater shaft and some serious butt-kicking had many takers. Though some found the script revolving around America under attack hackneyed, the film had its moments.
The chemistry between Justin Long and Bruce Willis was good, said many. Timothy Olyphant as a sinister ultra-hacker masterminding the obliteration of the US computer systems gave a believable performance. All in all, the film proved that Willis' shoulders were still strong to carry a film through.
