Over 500 volunteers have been working hard behind the scenes to make the 4th Dubai International Film Festival
a success. They share their experiences with us in this daily column.

I had a month free before leaving for Canada and felt it would be a good experience to volunteer. I was put in charge of collecting the passport copies of all the volunteers, checking their details and compiling the database.

The day before DIFF began I helped in registering the volunteers and giving them their badges. Now I am assisting the supervisor in various volunteer related jobs.

Long hours

The best part of being a volunteer is the chance to meet people of different nationalities. Sometimes the work and long hours can be stressful but I like contributing to something that so many people look forward to.

During DIFF I will be too busy to see any of the films but I did get a chance to see some of the films at screenings specially organised for the volunteers. I would love to be a volunteer next year.
