Horn OK Pleassss will see Nana Patekar in another funny act.

Serious Bollywood actors have an uncanny ability to tickle your funnybone whenever they make a transition to comedy. The proof of serious actors entertaining audiences with their comic skills are Amjad Khan, Amrish Puri, Om Puri, Anupam Kher and Paresh Rawal. Now you can add Nana Patekar to the list.

Patekar had the audience in splits with his funny don act in Welcome and now he will be seen in another full-fledged comedy, Horn OK Pleassss that also stars Rimi Sen and Muzammil Ibrahim.

Comic Flair

Patekar is known for his unique style of acting and terrific dialogue delivery and many a times his peculiar rendition of lines is enough to raise some laughs. Patekar has displayed his flair for comedy in films like Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Hum Dono, Bluffmaster and Hattrick.

Even his national award-winning serious performance in Krantiveer had an undercurrent humour. It is only with his full-on comic role in Welcome that he has suddenly made filmmakers wake up to his comic talent.

In Horn OK Pleasss Patekar plays a truck driver who promotes the message of love. His life takes a turn when his wife's (Sen) twin sister falls in love with Ibrahim's character, leading to a lot of confusion.

Shooting delays

Debutant director Rakesh Sarang didn't exactly have the smoothest shooting schedules of Horn OK Pleassss. During the shooting of a dance sequence, Patekar had a freak accident and twisted his ankle after stepping on a stone. He rested for few weeks to recover from a torn ligament.

This was followed by a controversy in which Tanushree Dutta, who was shooting for an item number with Patekar accused him of "misbehaving" with her and refused to shoot further. For this so-called unprofessional behaviour, Dutta was ousted from the film and replaced by Rakhi Sawant.

If all this wasn't enough, the film's shoot in Dubai had to be called off for a day as it coincided with George Bush's visit. .

Back in the limelight

Ibrahim made an impressive debut in Pooja Bhatt's Dhoka, but more than his performance in the film he made news for his spat with the temperamental Bhatt.

Ibrahim is ecstatic over sharing the screen with Patekar. "I think it was indeed a pleasure working with Nana, whom I consider one of the best and honest actors we have in Bollywood. I got to learn a lot acting alongside him in Horn OK Pleassss," he says.

Besides Muzammil, Sen will be seen as a lead actress after a long time although she made quite an impression with her negative role in De Taali.

In Horn OK Pleassss, she doesn't have to vie for attention with another actress as she plays a double role in which she is paired opposite Patekar and Muzammil ensuring she hogs the limelight both ways.
