Going nowhere

TV host and producer Willie Revillame could end up retiring early if his contract with TV5 isn’t renewed. According to the grapevine, Revillame has allegedly demanded a Dh9 million monthly salary, up from the current Dh7 million a month paycheck he is receiving.

Network executives supposedly refused because the show isn’t rating and earning high enough to warrant such an increase. But Revillame’s camp was quick to deny the rumour, saying no demands were made and the contract isn’t subject for renewal just yet.

Should his contract be renewed, Revillame cannot go to ABS CBN who has already said the host is not welcome to return. Neither can he go to GMA, because it’s where his rival show, Eat Bulaga, airs.

Lovi’s surprise

Just when everyone thought that Lovi Poe was bound for TV5, she pulls up a surprise and re-signs with GMA for a three year exclusive contract. Poe denied she ever considered moving to TV5, although it was well known in the industry that a drama series has already been developed just for her by the Kapatid network which had to cancel the show altogether when it found out Poe was staying at the Kapuso station, which must have given her a million reasons to stay. Poe will have a guaranteed contract which means she will be making money even without doing anything.

Show goes on

Despite rumours alleging she and husband Jed Salang had separated, Ai Ai delas Alas proved how much of a trooper she was when she performed at Vice Ganda’s concert last week. Delas Alas and Salang married in Las Vegas only last month, but soon after they returned trouble started to brew.

Sources close to the Comedy Queen say Salang has been physically abusing delas Alas, which may have prompted their break up early this year. They soon reunited and agreed to get married.

Now, it looks like the separation is permanent. Delas Alas has not confirmed anything, but has intimated on her social media posts that she be given the privacy to address challenges she is confronting at the moment.

Pacquiao settles

Boxing champion Manny Pacquiao has apparently settled a $10 million lawsuit with RBM Group International over his alleged failure to honour a 12-song recording deal with the company. Reports say the company has requested a dismissal of the case last week. The lawsuit stemmed from Pacquiao’s failure to record two songs for which he was paid an initial amount of $40,000 in 2009.
