- The Scissor Sisters was formed in 2001 and is composed of members Jake Shears, Ana Matronic, Babydaddy, Del Marquis and Randy Real.
Bono once described them as "the best pop group in the world".
Audiences in the UAE will soon have the chance to decide for themselves when the Scissor Sisters perform live in the capital early next year.
The American group were an instant hit after the release of their disco version of Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb, which eventually earned them the Best Dance Recording Grammy nomination.
That, along with hits including Laura, Take Your Mama, Mary, Filthy/Gorgeous and of course studio album Ta-Dah's hit I Don't Feel Like Dancin are certain to make the set list at the Abu Dhabi gig, which takes place on January 12 at Flash Forum, confirmed event organisers Flash Entertainment.
Formed in 2001, delivering those high-pitched vocals are Jake Shears and Ana Matronic, alongside Babydaddy, Del Marquis on lead guitar and bass, and drummer Randy Real.
As if that's not enough the pop group will be supported by Ms Dynamite as well as a number of prominent DJs courtesy of Emirates Palace club Etoile.
Organsiers Flash said tickets are expected to go on sale this week.
