Reigning Queen: Marian Rivera's Darna is the most-watched prime-time show
Marian Rivera reclaimed her throne as queen of Philippine prime-time TV when her show Darna trumped Stairway to Heaven for the top spot in the latest ratings released by AGB Nielsen.
A good reason for Rivera to be happy after she was hit by rumours alleging that she hit a 12-year-old girl who wanted her autograph at a recent public engagement.
Rivera's celebrity boyfriend Dingdong Dantes, incidentally the star of Stairway, has also come out publicly to defend his girlfriend against the attack.
Pineda’s journey continues
Journey frontman Arnel Pineda has denied rumours that he is leaving the popular US rock band.
Pineda, who was pulled from the depths of obscurity into the limelight when he became lead vocalist for one of the most revered rock bands in the US, said he will be part of the band's world tour in 2011.
Though he doesn't have an existing contract with the band, Pineda revealed that his wife and his five kids have finally joined him in the US, and are now certified groupies of the band.
The singer was recently in the Philippines to stage a show to benefit the victims of tropical typhoon Ketsana.
A Big Break
The Philippines' international teen diva Charice will play a role in Alvin and the Chipmunks 2, scheduled to be released in January 2010. Charice, who is thrilled over her first Hollywood project, will represent her school in a singing contest in the movie. She will sing Alicia Keys' hit song, No One, and will be competing with other contestants, including Alvin and the Chipmunks.
