Akhtar reminded of time on Don filmset as he returns to Kuala Lumpar
Returning to Kuala Lumpur to shoot a TV commercial, actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar was reminded of his time in the city filming hit film Don in 2006.
“Just filmed a TV commercial in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I kept thinking ‘Don’ is going to suddenly pop out around some corner,” tweeted the 39 year-old.
Akhtar’s remake of the 1970s Amitabh Bachchan hit Don was largely shot in Malaysia. The film featured Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Rampal, Isha Koppiker and Boman Irani in key roles
“(It) was nice to see some of the Don crew members on this shoot. Been seven years since... Damn he’s been tough to catch,” he further tweeted.
Since the 2006 film, Akhtar also directed Don 2 - The King Is Back, which released in 2011.
Akhtar is currently garnering attention for his role in forthcoming film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. The 38-year-old went through rigorous training to acquire a sporty physique for the biopic on athlete Milkha Singh.
Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, the film also features Sonam Kapoor and is scheduled to hit screens on July 12.
