All change for Bollywood's A-list actresses

‘What are minds for if not to change?' seems to be the new mantra for three of Bollywood's hottest stars, who have all started the New Year determined to let go of their previous resolutions.

And whether it's down to peer pressure, doing favours for a pal or upping their game in super-competitive B-town, Jacqui, Sonam and Sonakshi have all proved that when it comes to Bollywood, never say never…

With onscreen kissing becoming less and less of a sticky issue in Bollywood, Jacqui surprised industry insiders when she decided to drop out of the star-studded Krrish 3, rather than kiss the gorgeous Hrithik Roshan on the big screen. And the Sri Lankan beauty's decision caused some major upsets between her and director, Rakesh Roshan, with one insider spilling, "He visited her at Filmistan Studios where she was shooting Housefull 2, to try and salvage her casting." Adding, "The meeting ended on a pretty ugly note and she wouldn't budge on her stance. The meeting did not go as Rakesh had planned that's for sure"; with the actress's rep publicly insisting it came down to "date issues not working out".

And whereas Jacqui's male peers can get away with refusing to kiss onscreen, with SRK insisting, "When anyone comes to narrate a story to me, I tell them two things: I won't ride a horse and I won't kiss", and Ritesh Deshmukh deeming an onscreen pash "too intimate an act to be done in front of so many eyes", the actress has now done an about-turn on her decision and is set to enjoy… sorry, we meant, endure, a big screen liplock with John Abraham in the upcoming Race 2.

"Jacqueline will be playing John Abraham's love interest in Race 2. She is going to shoot for an intimate liplock scene with John soon," revealed an industry insider. "It's believed she's doing it as a favour to her man, Sajid, who is really good friends with John. He gave his blessing."

"With more and more films having openly visible kissing sequences, it's become a part of the industry that actors and actresses alike have to deal with," said a movie insider. "That's the way Bollywood is going, and unfortunately it will probably be the actresses who'll need to bend their previously held morals - not the superstar actors."
