Dubai: The Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) has completed the setting up of a modern news centre in Damascus to cover the upcoming Arab Summit.

The establishment of the centre was carried out in line with the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Ahmad Abdullah Al Shaikh, Shaikh Mohammad's Media Aide and Managing Director of the DMI, on Monday handed over the new centre to Syrian Information Minister Mohsen Bilal.

Bilal thanked Shaikh Mohammad for his grant and his national stands towards Syria and its people and Arab causes.

He said Syrian President Bashar Al Assad hailed Shaikh Mohammad's stances and generosity in humanitarian and national fields.

Al Shaikh said the centre has been equipped with latest technologies to enable the media to cover the summit. He said the centre includes 60 media rooms for television, radio and newspaper reporters, six studios, a fully equipped control room, 10 stationary and mobile transmission stations, five rooms for radio reporters and six montage rooms.
