Dubai: The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced that applications are now being accepted for the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum (MRM) Business Award and the MRM Business Innovation Award.

The awards are open to all private companies in the UAE and GCC, including those in freezones. Companies have until February 28, 2018 to apply for the awards, but registration is limited and accepted on a first-come first-served basis.

The awards are part of the MRM Business Performance Program, which also allows companies to assess their performance and identify areas where they can improve.

Over 1,400 companies from across the GCC have participated in the award programme since its inception in 2005. To date, 150 companies have been awarded for their achievements.

“These prestigious awards are the highest level of recognition for business excellence and innovation in the UAE and GCC … The award programme is a major part of Dubai Chamber’s efforts to foster a culture of excellence and innovation within business communities,” said Hamad Bu Amim, president and chief executive officer of Dubai Chamber.

In a statement, he said he expected the awards to continue attracting strong participation this year, and that they will encourage companies to improve their performance.
