Abu Dhabi: Eat smart, save water, walk or bike are some of the green tips offered through a smartphone application for people who wish to go green.
UAE green application is one of the initiatives that will be introduced in the UAE Green Festival held under the theme “Live, learn and have fun in a low carbon world” from March 16 next year.
The one-month-long festival will be organised by several government and private organisations.
“UAE green application will enable people to follow a green lifestyle and have more awareness about the concept of sustainability. The application will tackle environmental issues locally and internationally,” festival organisers told Gulf News.
The green map is also another application that can identify UAE green businesses, activities and events to keep users posted with all the latest updates.
The festival will comprise green tourism, sustainable transportation, green life, green shopping, green menu and green technology.
During the festival, several art exhibitions will showcase green art, landscapes and photographs.
The UAE Ministry of Education, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai, TCA Abu Dhabi and the Federal Electricity and Water Authority are part of the organising committee.
