Ajman: A toddler was reunited with his family after he was found wandering alone on a road here.

Major Dr Mohammad Bin Hazim Al Suwaidi, director of Social Police Department, said they received a call from an Emirati man saying he found a boy wandering alone in Al Bustan area.

The boy was 20-months old.

Police patrol immediately reached the spot and found that the boy belonged to an Asian family as he could not speak or understand Arabic.

Major Al Suwaidi said the police did not receive any missing-persons report regarding the child.

This prompted them to search the area where the boy was found to locate his parents.

Later, police found the boy's house and handed him over to his parents.

Mother busy

The mother said that she was busy with house work and had not noticed her son’s absence.

The police made the boy’s parents sign an undertaking promising to take care of their son in the future.

Major Al Suwaidi also appealed to parents and families to pay close attention to their children, especially when they are out of the house and to never leave them alone under any circumstances.

He also urged parents to make sure that the main door of the house is locked to prevent children from wandering out.
