The ICC Academy boys returned rich with experience from a 10-day tour to the Warwickshire. The under18s won four of their five matches while under15s managed to win just one. ICC Academy Head of Development Mudassar Nazar: “We are delighted to have given such a quality experience to our boys in England where the playing conditions are very different to those which they play in here in the UAE. Although the results have been very positive, most importantly, the boys have returned as better cricketers.”
ICC Academy Manager Will Kitchen: “It’s been fantastic ten days of cricket in the UK with high quality matches against competitive sides. Our Warriors program is all about development and learning, results are not important at this stage, however we were very pleased with how the teams performed against top quality players. Touring and playing overseas is a key part of our development program and the players and parents alike were overjoyed with their experience.
Head of Development,Coach Mudassar Nazar has hailed ICC Academy’s tour to Birmingham Warwickshire as a real step forward for the players that were a part of it.
The under 18’s won four out of their five5 games on tour, whereas the under 15’s won their opening game before four very close encounters which sadly ended in defeat.they were subject to strong oppositions that ended with defeats.
The senior teams faced their only defeat against the (ECB) England Pphysically DdisabiliedDisabledty (PD) side in their opening game on the tour played at Aston Manor Cricket Club, the formative home of England and Warwickshire star Chris Woakes. It was their batting that floundered flounderedthem, just as it they did when these two sides met in Dubai earlier this year prior to the England versus Pakistan Disability series held at ICC Academy in March..
The seniors hit the drawing board and came back stronger to win all the remaining matches on the tour, facing some of the best sides from across the West Midlands regionin Birmingham.
Team captainSkipper Jay Sshah raised his hand up after defeat in the opening game and produced one of his finest knocks for the ICC Academy.
