We don’t know where football star, fashion icon and part-time men’s innerwear designer David Beckham is heading after his stint in Los Angeles, but we know where his Bodywear range is. At your neighbourhood H&M store, that’s where. Expanding on his hugely successful line for the fast fashion retailer, the footballer has just launched a ‘holiday’ edition targeted at the coming colder months.

Featuring new styles including draw-string pyjamas, long johns and lounging shorts and T-shirts, Mr Beckham is also back modelling the new collection — and The Directory has them, along with an interview with the man himself on the newest range, in stores now.
Q: Tell us about the new products!
A: I’m so excited to be introducing the first new products into my Bodywear range at H&M. The new pieces are perfect for warmth and comfort this winter, and for lounging around at home. There’s a great morning gown which is designed to feel like the perfect hoodie, and some great new pyjama pants with a draw-string waist. There’s a whole selection for lounging, with a henley and long johns with padded elbows and knees, as well as some lounge shorts and a lounging crewneck T-shirt with great V-notch stitching at the neck. We’ve also included a towel in the collection. It’s important to me that Bodywear means more than just briefs and T’s. It’s about all the pieces I like to wear close to my body, whatever the occasion.
Q: Which piece is your favourite one in the new collection?
A: They’re all my favourites! We’ve worked hard on the development of all the pieces in the entire line, so that they all surpass my very high standards. But relaxing at home with my family is important to me, especially in the holiday season, and I can’t wait to wake up in the new Holiday pyjamas, then put on the morning gown and go and hand out presents, before spending the day lounging in my new range.
Q: What inspires you when you create new products?
A: My Bodywear range is a collection of all the essential pieces I need in my wardrobe, which I know other men will love too. We introduce new products when there is a new piece which will add something fresh to the collection. Each of our pieces goes through the same design process, where we concentrate on finding the best fit, and the most comfortable shape, as well as ensuring all the seams and labelling are soft and comfortable to wear.
Can you tell us a little bit about what to expect next?
A: The great thing about my Bodywear collection is that the core pieces will always be there, so you know you can always find your favourite David Beckham Bodywear pieces at H&M around the world. We’ve got loads of great new ideas in development, I can’t wait to share them with you in the seasons to come.
Q: What makes the holiday season special for you?
A: For me, the holiday season has always meant family. It’s a time to get together with loved ones and share some special time with them. Whether we’re in LA or back in the UK, we always make sure we have a traditional celebration, with great food and good times. And, of course, presents for everyone!
