Reggae superstar Shaggy attracted a young and trendy crowd to the Madinat Jumeirah for the second Life Music Festival.
Accompanied by two male singers and one female vocalist, the Jamaican-born chart sensation certainly had the packed crowd dancing - just as he had promised he would earlier in the week.
And he whipped Dubai's beautiful young things into such a frenzy that when he left the stage they chanted: "Shaggy, Shaggy, Shaggy, Shaggy," until he returned.
Plenty of Shaggy's biggest hits were here, although it was the medley of classics from Bob Marley and the Wailers that really stood out as the show-stopper.
The audience enthusiastically sang along to One Love, Three Little Birds and Get Up, Stand Up among others.
The arena was turned into a high-energy club for those keen to dance until the early hours.
On a less positive note, the concert really was quite loud.
Even with earplugs on and standing at the back, it was uncomfortable, so it doesn't bear thinking about what it was like without ear protection.
