The mirror.co.uk published a photo of Hilton in a leopard-print bikini at the Atlantis hotel – her weekend there was reported by tabloid! on Sunday – and quoted a source saying that the producers of her show were furious that she had flouted their rules on conservative dress.
"Paris had made a big public speech, saying how much she loved the Middle East and respected its culture. But the following day she was prancing around on the beach in her bikini and posing provocatively," the website reported.
"Bosses warned her Western tourists have been jailed for flouting the rules."
Hilton hit back right away on Twitter, claiming that she was only doing what everyone else on Dubai's beaches does: wear swimwear.
"Everyone at the beach and pool was wearing swimsuits or bikinis. What do you expect people to wear? It's over 100 degrees out," she Twittered.
"There's a lot of misconceptions about this place, the dress code isn't as strict as one might think. I love the way they dress. Beautiful :)"
The producers of Paris Hilton's Best Friend Forever Dubai declined to comment when contacted by tabloid!
Ski bunny
After putting her driving skills to the test, Paris Hilton opted for a change in temperature with a visit to Ski Dubai. "Ski Dubai is so cool, I can't believe I'm skiing in the desert," said Paris while on the ski lift.
The challenge at Ski Dubai last night involved two contestants from Paris' reality show Dubai My New BFF.
The heiress explained that skiing has always been a part of the Hilton family's winter vacations and that any potential best friend would also have to prove their mettle on the slopes. -
