A spectacular list of stars from the music world are set to perform at Thursday night's annual MTV Europe Music Awards.
US chart-topping singer Katy Perry has been announced as the host of the event and will be joined by acts including Take That, The Killers, Duffy, Kid Rock, Pink and Beyonce.
It is also rumoured that Britney, who is nominated in two categories, is scheduled to make a surprise appearance.
Perry, who has recnetly enjoyed chart success, will make her presenting debut at the ceremony in Liverpool tonight.
The singer is nominated for two awards, including best new act.
Take That are to perform at the event at the Echo Arena, 14 years after they appeared at the first ceremony in Berlin.
"With such fond memories of the event in Berlin, it is a great honour to be asked back," they said in a statement.
Coldplay and Duffy lead the nominees for the awards, with three mentions on the shortlist.
Karl Wolf, the Middle East R&B phenomenon, will also perform at the awards after scooping the title of Best New Act in a new MTV Arabia category which was voted for online.
The evening promises to be full of surprises.
