The concert opened with flashing lights and the theme from Mission: Impossible. The question was, could they pull it off 20 years on?

The sweaty, heaving masses crammed into Dubai's Irish Village had come to witness former Spandau Ballet frontman Tony Hadley, Go West and ABC perform an '80s Medley.

Before nearly 3,000 fans, each had the chance to shine with the songs that made them famous.

Suit-clad Hadley's powerful vocals proved untainted by time, particularly in the emotionally charged Through The Barricades.

ABC's Martin Fry was a bundle of energy with hits like Poison Arrow, while Go West's King of Wishful Thinking and We Close Our Eyes had us all singing along.

After an hour and 45 minutes of memories and fun, these potential has-beens had us convinced they've still got it.
