Despite the cold, Amr Diab thrills thousands of fans at Dubai show
The wind didn't stop them. The cold weather didn't stop them. In fact, nothing could stop the thousands of Amr Diab fans from being at Super Bowl Zabeel Park, Dubai, on Saturday night for the concert they had been anticipating for one year plus a day.
The concert was postponed from Friday to Saturday due to the adverse weather conditions, but that hardly dampened the spirit of Diab fans of all ages, who showed up on time, and were never disappointed.
Diab greeted his fans by lifting his cap and revealing his shaved head, much to their amusement. "This is to remind you of the army. We've all been there, yeah?" he said.
Plenty of fun
The fans did not merely cheer and dance throughout the two-hour concert. They waved posters, flags, signs with Diab's name and pictures, and used the little cushions provided at the venue as Frisbees, which kept flying from one side to the other, and towards the stage.
Diab was, as usual, up to anything. He accepted whatever came his way with a laugh, proving once again that people attend his concerts not just to hear his songs, which most of them know by heart anyway, but to have a great time in general. And that is exactly what they had.
