    There is and there has been. I think it is a good approach because women also need rights. Dubai has become globalised and women are free, but in other Arab countries they are still oppressed.

    Yes I do. I think there are a lot of Arab feminists and Islamic feminists. Where I come from in Morocco women are as much involved in life as men. They are in government, they work and sometimes sustain their own households.

    There is a place for feminism but not within every family because the majority are closed-minded; but our generation is more open-minded. This generation gets to express its ideas more and we dress differently. There has been a gradual change from past decades.

    There are places where it has happened and women have been liberated. For example in most of the Gulf states women have roles in society alongside men.
