Gulf Educational Supplies and Solutions (GESS), the region's leading educational, supplies and solutions event, and its 2009 exhibitors Al Mazroui and Kit for Kids have shown their commitment to the Middle East education sector by donating educational aids to the Umm Sinan School in Fujairah. The donation was coordinated by GESS organisers Fairs and Exhibitions who donated a selection of computer equipment to help bolster the IT facilities for students in the school.
"Holding a business to business exhibition should not only be about connecting buyers and suppliers to education institutions but also be part of the educational development drive in the region," said Sue Rothwell, group event director of Fairs and Exhibitions. "We found that the suppliers who will exhibit at GESS in March 2009 are truly committed to doing whatever they can to ensure that students in the Middle East have access to the best learning environment possible."
Dubai-based company Al Mazroui donated a selection of hands-on maths and science kits to the school; it has been supplying these kits to schools throughout the UAE for the past three years. The kits are designed to meet the Ministry of Education's new curriculum requirements.
"The UAE Ministry of Education always looks for the best educational methods available which require the best educational resources to enhance student hands-on practice," said Mustafa Zidan, head of Al Mazroui's Educational Division.
British-based Kit for Kids donated a selection of Play and Learn products to the school, including a large multi-cultural carpet designed to assist children to develop their cultural awareness. Also donated were Emotion floor cushions and large Alpha Tiles, which are the perfect fun tools to introduce the English alphabet.
The principal of Umm Sinan School, Khaseeba Ali Salem, was delighted with the donations. "This range of products will really make a difference to our school in providing a positive learning environment."
GESS 2009 will run from March 10-12 2009 in conjunction with the Global Education Forum at the Airport Expo Centre.
