I’m almost a month into the Life Challenge, and I can see positive changes already.

At the beginning, to ease myself into my a fitness regime, I decided to try all the classes that Urban Energy Fitness offered, to help me decide which one would benefit me the most. So, I tried the Core Express, Classic Circuits, Skiptrix, Running, and Cardio Boxing for the first week. For someone getting back to a fitness routine after more than a year, I knew it wasn’t going to be easy. The sessions were intense, and my whole body ached. But the next week all my pain was gone, and I not I look forward to my classes each morning.
For me, it’s not so much about weight loss as it is about losing those unwanted inches, being toned and lean, and upping my energy levels. So, I make sure I work hard to benefit from every crunch and skip. I do find the running a bit hard, and that's because I’ve not done it since school, so a little more practice in that area I guess. Now I am regularly attending Core, Skiptrix, and Circuits, and this week I tried the Aqua Fitness, which I believe I will be going for regularly. Over the last three weeks, my energy levels have considerably risen, and I’m able to pack in a lot more during my day, and I sleep well too. My husband to has noticed the changes and encourages me to do more everyday.
The last week has been somewhat turbulent with hectic work schedules and home commitments, so I’ve have to skip a few fitness sessions, which I made up for by doing some yoga at home.
I also had my first one-on-one life coaching session this week, and I went in not knowing what to expect. I cannot explain how much better and full of life I feel! I am much calmer and more focused. If one session did this, I can't imagine what I will be like after the remaining sessions.
What I’m finding a bit challenging is the food. An Indian diet is high in carbs, and almost every meal has to have a carb element. However, the nutrition advice I receive from Fiona is helping me determine when I need my carbs the most, how much, and when, so that it benefits me. The food diary helps me keep track of everything I eat, so I am more mindful of what I put in my mouth. I feel fortunate to get nutrition advice from the experts and now, I’m trying to be more watchful of what I eat and when I eat it. My intake of water has also increased, which means I feel alert and my skin looks great too.
