6.2 magnitude quake strikes Indonesia, no reports of damage

Jakarta: The US Geological Survey says an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude reading of 6.2 has struck south of the Indonesian island of Sumbawa.

There were no immediate reports of damage from the quake on Saturday.

Budi Waluyo, a seismologist from Indonesia's Meteorology and Geophysics Agency says a tsunami warning had not been issued because the undersea quake was not strong enough to push tsunami.
