Abu Dhabi: The evaluation process of government entities, individuals and services participating in the fifth edition of the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance 2017 is now completed, the General Secretariat of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council announced yesterday.

A total of 52 agencies of Abu Dhabi Government vying for the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Pillars Awards as well as other institutional awards and Chairman Executive Council Medals have been evaluated and all field visits to the participating entities have been concluded.

With around 110 individuals and 42 director generals having qualified for the Chairman Executive Council Medals as well as 20 government services for the best government service award, more than 200 experienced international and local evaluators participated in the assessment process in order to appraise the participants according to the government excellence system.

Dr Fahad Mattar Al Niyadi, Director-General of the General Secretariat of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, said that the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance is the key tool for supporting the adoption of a corporate culture of excellence in Abu Dhabi.

The fifth edition of the award is yet another phase in line with the development landscape in the Emirate that contributes to developing of institutional work mechanisms, enhancing the performance quality as well as creating and developing a positive spirit of competition in the government sector, Al Niyadi added.
