Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has issued instructions to honour 46 outstanding Emirati figures as part of UAE Pioneers for their important contributions to the charitable and humanitarian works.

Shaikh Mohammad instructed the allocation of this year’s edition of UAE Pioneers for Emiratis who have been actively engaged in the charitable activity as part of the UAE’s celebrations of the National Day on December 2 and the Year of Giving.

“The UAE has always been pioneered in charitable and humanitarian field, and still sets honourable examples of giving,” Shaikh Mohammad said.

The initiative aims to promote outstanding Emirati role models in various areas and highlight their contributions and achievements. It focused on pioneers who worked faithfully to serve the nation since the foundation of the UAE until present.

All Emirati community members are invited to nominate distinguished personalities they believe they are worthy of being recognised and honoured as part the fourth edition of the UAE Pioneers via www.uaepioneers.ae and hashtag # UAE _Pioneers.

The nomination process will run until November 24. A special committee will sort out the names of nominated candidates and entries to select this year’s pioneers who meet the selection criteria.

The distinguished personalities will be honoured them during the 46th UAE National Day celebrations, and Shaikh Mohammad will present a special media to them.

The UAE Pioneers initiative was launched in 2014, and 132 personalities and entities were honoured during the previous three editions.

The UAE Pioneers initiative aims to promote in the Emirati society the concept of honour, establish in the people of the UAE a love for the number one position, and promote their passion to discover new areas not attempted by anyone else. The initiative also sheds light on the first pioneers of the UAE who have served faithfully since the founding of the UAE to strengthen the Union and raise the nation’s flag at all levels.
