Abu Dhabi: The 35th afforestation week will be celebrated in the UAE on Sunday. The week-long activities all over the country will be under the theme of ‘Together let us plant the UAE’ and under the supervision of the Ministry of Environment and Water and in cooperation with municipal affairs and public works departments all over the country for the period till Thursday.
The afforestation week is an annual event that aims to promote environmental sustainability through the dissemination of awareness messages directed to all segments of society.
The launch of the week comes in the context of highlighting smart technologies and innovations in agriculture, landscaping and aesthetic spheres, and to further enhance sustainability awareness of community members, while preserving local plants in their natural habitats and encourage their use in reforestation projects.
