Dubai: The 17th successive edition of Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS 2014) starts on Saturday with a month of events, attractions and prizes lined up for residents and visitors.
Organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), DSS 2014 will run till September 5 under the theme ‘The Fun Side of Summer’.
The line-up of events is led by the world premiere of the Angry Birds Universe Interactive Experience at Modhesh World, the Decepticon Clone Transformers Show at BurJuman and the Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure at City Centre Mirdif and Deira City Centre.
Throughout the summer festival, shoppers visiting numerous malls and souqs across Dubai can take advantage of special offers and discounts of up to 70 per cent on a wide range of merchandise including designer apparel, homeware, electronic goods, fashion, jewellery and accessories, while getting the opportunity to win prizes.
Shoppers spending Dh200 at a participating mall stand the chance to win up to Dh2 million worth of prizes including six BMW cars.
Raffle draws will be held each week with one person winning a luxury car every Saturday from August 9 to September 6.
The final week’s draw will see one additional winner walking away with the mega bumper prize of this year’s promotion, a BMW X5.
